Every November through January, I get to rip the tags off of cute party dresses that have somehow sneaked into and burrowed themselves inside of my closet.
Holiday parties, family dinners and end-of-season events give me lots of perfect excuses to throw on a pair of heels and even invest in a few new pieces. What can I say? I love it.
This year has been particularly busy. Once Thanksgiving rolls around, the weeks following, through the end of the year are jam-packed. My Mom's birthday, a holiday in its own (that usually lasts at least a week), Art Basel, pre-Christmas activities, Christmas, Hannukah, New Years and so on. I can't complain - the non-stop party schedule is what I live for.
When choosing what to wear to a party, the key is to go simple. A little black dress is your best friend during the holidays. The color black works year-round and adding a pop of color helps your look stand out. This Elizabeth & James look is pretty, elegant and so simple. After a long day of work, I threw my hair up into a messy bun, zipped up the dress and rocked the cutest heels to dinner.
Remember to not be afraid of comfort. Embrace the trends you love.
2015 is going to be fabulous and so is your outfit. Happy Holidays!
