Even at a young age and even though I did not recognize it, I had already developed my own personal style. I looked up to women like Kate Hudson, Mary Kate Olsen and Sienna Miller, fashion icons who never followed trends. Instead, by wearing exactly what they wanted - how they wanted – they set trends.
When my Mom and I went shopping for the perfect party dress for my Big Day, we searched high and low until we came across a maroon number by La Rok. Even though, sadly, the brand no longer exists, the dress still fits me perfectly.
It's moments like these that take me back to my first discoveries of my love of fashion, when I was really starting to figure who I was as an individual and what I was good at. I styled my Bat Mitzvah party dress with my Mom's vintage cowboy boots and a cool chain necklace. At the most awkward time in a teenage girl's life, this outfit was, and will forever be, one of my favorites.
Now, approaching 23 and way past the Bat Mitzvah age, my boho chic aesthetic is still alive and well. I've found new ways to embrace this attire on a daily basis. This outfit is a new favorite, a bit more casual and easy to wear in the heat of Miami. Styled with comfy peep toe boots, my bohemian dress is exactly what I love to see hanging in my closet.
